Physical Description
Uttar Pradesh is broken into three regions, the Himalayan, Gangetic and Southern Plateau. The Himalayan consists of rugged, varied terrain. Gagnetic is made of highly fertile alluvial soils, including numerous ponds, lakes and rivers. The Southern Plateau consists of varied hills, plains, valleys and plateaus with limited water availability.
